Frequently Asked Questions

I think I am ready to start therapy, what do I do next?

Congratulations on your first big step to healing! Starting therapy can be a bit daunting and anxiety provoking. Often, we arrive at this decision during moments of stress, pain, or sadness. Sometimes we know we want to meet with a therapist, but the thought of starting can be scary. Just know that you are not alone, and I am here to help!

You can start with using the “Schedule Now” or “Contact” tab on the website. There you will see a small form to complete with your first and last name, a way to contact you, and an open box for a message to me, or can simply call my direct number which is also listed. I typically respond to inquiries within 24 hours. From there we can either schedule a complementary consultation call to see if this right for you, or you can go straight to scheduling a first session if you feel the consultation is unnecessary.

What can I expect during a first session?

After we schedule our first session, you will receive a link to create a portal and complete intake paperwork. Our first session will be a bit different than our typical sessions, as we will work together to gather background information, what your goals are, and how you would like to achieve them.

What about the other sessions, what is therapy like?

Therapy is different for everyone- for some, it may look like needing a safe space to vent and get feedback. For others, it may look like coping skill building or working through one specific problem. No matter what your need is, my approach to therapy is the same - being direct, honest, sarcastic, and led with humor. We are partners on a journey towards empowerment, healing, and growth.

For any other questions, feel free to either call or utilize the contact form. All questions will be responded to within 24 hours!
